Candles are traditionally blessed on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Here's a modern blessing for lightbulbs which we encounter much more often. May there light remind us of the light of Christ.
Lightbulb Blessing
Lord Jesus Christ, the true Light that enlightens everyone, pour forth your blessing upon us and sanctify us by the light of your grace. Bless these humble lightbulbs that brighten our surroundings, symbolizing the radiance of your divine presence in our lives. Mercifully grant that, as light dispels the darkness of night, so too our hearts, burning with the splendor of the Holy Spirit, may be free from sin and purified by your Light. Let all earthly light remind us that you are our Light in darkness, our Protector in danger, and our saving Lord at all times. Guide our steps each day, protect us from all evil, and help us discern what is good, so that having completed this mortal life, we may attain eternal life, through you, who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
